About Me

I am a Biology major and Art History minor. I love animals and children, therefore I hope to intersect both of these passions in my future career. My favorite activities include being at the beach, reading, having Sunday dinner at A-House, and being a hype-woman for my friends. And of course, I am a Gemini woman.

Campus Jobs

Resident Assistant
America Reads (Tutor); America Counts (Tutor) - both through the Bonner Center

Favorite Place

Afrikan Heritage House; I found the biggest and best support throughout my time at Oberlin in this space from peers (all of years), professors, and community members here. A-house is the space I felt I could be my authentic self, and the overwhelming energy that radiates in this space is unmatched anywhere else. Even though I was never a resident, this place provided me a home away from home.

Clubs & Organizations

Black Scientists Guild

Notable Quote

"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style." - Maya Angelou (2011)

Memorable Oberlin Moment

On February 23-24, 2019, during Black History Month as the sole Chair of the Black Scientists Guild, I successfully created and facilitated STEM in Color; a two day career summit for students in STEM to interact with and learn from Black Professionals in various careers. The panel consisted of alumni and other outside professionals who have either become good friends of mine or mentors/advisors for my career goals.

Graduation Date

05/25/2020

Future Plans

The summer of 2020 I will completing a fellowship with The Cooperative Institute for Great Lakes Research (CIGLR), computer modeling Lake Michigan ecosystems and energy flows. This summer I will also be creating and providing online courses and workshops for educators (at all levels) to enhance their cultural competency, behavior management protocol, and social/emotional literacy to better serve and teach Black students.
