About Me

My name is Gail Johnson and I am a Neuroscience Major on the Pre-Medical track! I have been in OSCA since my first semester (woah), and have been in four different co-ops. During this time, I was a DLEC for the entirety of my freshman year, an HLEC my sophomore year, as well as a head cook, a pizza cook, and a bread maker during many semesters. I also have worked at the rock wall since my freshman year, which has been an integral part of my time at Oberlin. Additionally, had the lovely opportunity to work in the Mail Room, as well as at the Museum, and some short-term research. I studied abroad through SEA Semester, where I spent a month and a half on a tall-ship in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, conducting research as well as being a full-time crew member. But most importantly, I met my two best friends on the first day of orientation (also woah), and we finally had the chance to live together this past year. My time at Oberlin was filled with so much learning and love, and many bagels eggs and beer. We are apart but together!

Study Abroad

Yes! I did SEA Semester (in the middle of the Sargasso Sea)during the Spring of 2019.

Memorable Oberlin Moment

Not a specific moment, but I frequently think of sitting at the tile and wooden kitchen table at our Oberlin home, talking with friends, playing cards, and laughing. Having both serious talks about inequities around the world and within the institution, as well as lighthearted and funny conversations about sailing around the world or building a cabin out of found materials.

Future Plans

I have no idea! Medical school in two years. But immediately, hopefully sailing or farming?
